Customs Officials Foil Major Gold Smuggling Attempt at Lahore Airport Valuables Worth Crores Seized from Dubai Passenger

Acting on a tip-off from Collector Customs Tayyaba Kiani, authorities intercepted a passenger arriving from Dubai, seizing one kilogram and 28 grams of gold jewelry, six diamond pages, and five mobile phones. The accused, identified as Asif, was arrested on-site, with the total value of the confiscated goods estimated at approximately 32.2 million PKR.

The smuggled items were reportedly hidden under the suspect's clothing on Air Blue International flight number 417-PA. The timely intervention by Customs officials has been credited with preventing this significant smuggling operation.

A case has been registered against Asif under the Customs Act, and an investigation is ongoing to explore further implications and connections related to the incident. This enforcement action underscores the vigilance of Pakistani authorities in combating smuggling and protecting national interests.
